This seminar aims at enhancing your general knowledge of contracts and will focus on drafting and structuring export contracts in English. Standard clauses and phrases as well as checklists will help you formulate your international contracts properly. Being proficient in using legal terminology will better prepare you for using English as the language of negotiation professionally. Case law examples also will demonstrate potential pitfalls. This seminar has been specifically developed for those who want to acquire or enhance their practical drafting skills and gain confidence in drafting English language contracts, and in particular export contracts.
This program provides an overview of different legal systems and consequences for contract drafting, together with examples of different kinds of agreements and practical advice for contract drafting, business deals in an international context and for export matters. Major differences between common law and civil law and practical advice and know-how with regard to negotiations and drafting problems are also covered.
RA Dr. Paul Luiki, J.D. He is a partner at Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH (fwp). His main area of expertise is the drafting of international contracts, in particular sale of goods contracts, M&A, Joint Ventures and the drafting of General Terms and Conditions, in which he has more than 20 years of experience. He is from the US (English native speaker) and worked as a lawyer in the US before moving to Austria.
